Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese was appreciative of the support that team co-owner Dwyane Wade and his family showed to her when they made their home opener against the Connecticut Sun on Saturday.

For those who missed it, after the game, Wade’s daughter Kaavia James Union Wade shared a moment with Reese and quickly hugged the rising WNBA star as soon as they met.

The NBA legend himself shared the cool moment on his Instagram Story, writing: “Seeing is believing. Thank you, [Angel Reese] for being a model for all our daughters.”

Gabrielle Union, Wade’s wife, posted the video as well and revealed why her daughter is now a big fan of Reese.

“Once Kaav heard [Angel Reese] went by Barbie, Stan for life” Union said, referencing Reese’s Chi Barbie nickname.

Angel Reese saw Gabrielle Union’s story and couldn’t help but react. She reposted the video on her Instagram Story as well and captioned it, “LOVE HER.”

It’s definitely a moment that Kaavia will remember for her life. And sure enough, Reese just became an even bigger inspiration for the young kid.

While the Sky lost 86-82 to the Sun in the Saturday game, Reese definitely impressed a lot of people after finishing with 13 points and five rebounds. Even better, she displayed her toughness even after getting fouled hard during the game.

Now, that’s a baller and a real role model of how a hooper should be.
