Mr. Porter is Getting Ready for the First “Houdini” Live Performance With Eminem

People all around the world are learning lyrics to Marshall’s new hit, and so is his trusted hypeman, Mr. Porter.

At least, this is what he said commenting on the “Houdini” rhyme scheme video posted on the Spited Instagram page. Denaun left a comment showing that he has to work hard this weekend:

Please do the rest of the song 😂🔥🔥🔥I gotta learn this by Monday 😂😂😂 way easier to follow

It can only mean that the live performance is coming, and it is coming soon.

Let’s look around for an occasion that might theoretically list Eminem as one of the lineup artists. There is no safer bet than an upcoming opening of the Detroit architectural landmark.

Michigan Central Station will open on June 6, 2024, after a years-long renovation. A live show of an epic scale will mark the event. The performers have not yet been announced, but the major milestone of the opening of the historic once-abandoned Michigan Central Station will be celebrated with a concert featuring a lineup of legendary Detroit performers, media promise. A company that has produced such televised events as Super Bowl Halftime and Academy Awards shows will also work on the Michigan Central grand opening concert. This event is free to attend and will be live-streamed around the world.

Knowing that Marshall always shows up for his home city, it is easy to imagine he will be one of those legendary Detroit performers.

Another recent social media post supports this version and also hints at an exciting collaboration. A week ago, another Detroit legend, Jack White, posted photos of Eminem on his Instagram account. Of course, it sparked rumours of their possible collaboration, while some more restrained fans suggested that it might be a hint at both of them being involved with the Michigan Central Station opening.

But why not both? To be on the same stage in different time slots probably would not warrant Jack White getting hyped enough to leave hints on his socials. Meanwhile, we know that Marshall does not shy away from unexpected collaborations and works well with rock music and rock musicians. His Hall of Fame performance with Steven Tyler of Aerosmith is a good recent example of such synergy. So, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Jack White will lend his ferocious guitar skills to the upcoming Eminem performance.

So, the rehearsals start tomorrow. The cats might be out of the bag by then, but we may have to wait until Thursday, June 6, to see Marshall perform his new song on stage for the first time.
