John Travolta and Nicolas Cage set to return for Face/Off 2 according to new report

The two icons may be facing off for a second round…

Face/Off 2 is officially in the works, however, its cast has yet to be confirmed.

Although the sequel’s cast hasn’t been announced yet, a new report made by industry scooper Daniel Richtman claims that both original stars Nicolas Cage and John Travolta are set to return.

As confirmed already, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire‘s Adam Wingard is set to direct.

In the first movie, Cage starred as Castor Troy with Travolta as Sean Archer.

The two quite literally swap faces as Cage, who plays the villain, uses an experimental surgical procedure to take Travolta’s face as well as his voice.

Despite the ending of the 1997 original, and without giving away spoilers, the two will reportedly return for another round, or at least as cameos as the scooper’s claim doesn’t provide much info.

Cage himself revealed to Collider just last year that he’s had “one meeting” about the sequel but hadn’t heard anything since.

However, he was seemingly interested in the idea of returning.

The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal has also shown interest in starring in the movie alongside Cage when speaking to GQ in 2022, but as mentioned the cast has yet to be revealed.

“Yes. Yes, I would. I mean, really just a straightforward answer. Yes,” Pascal said.

“I rattle off so many movies that were from the ‘80s, before I graduated high school, so the impression that they left on me obviously was so big.”

“But then, of course, once you get into the ’90s and Leaving Las Vegas and then into Face/Off, it’s a whole other level of admiration. All of that is to say, yes: I would like to be a part of Face/Off 2.”

While also talking with Collider, Cage offered his thoughts on what the sequel could be about.

“I think Face/Off is a sequel that lends itself to a lot of twists and turns and unpredictability.”

“It’s almost like if you factor in the idea of offspring and Castor and Sean having children and these children grow up, then it becomes like three-dimensional chess, and then it’s not just the two, John Travolta and myself, it’s four of us ping-ponging and going at different levels, and it becomes even more complex.”

Face/Off 2 hasn’t got a release date.
