50 Cent isn’t buying Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ apology.

On Sunday, May 19, the “In da Club” rapper, 48, responded to the Bad Boy Records founder’s video mea culpa to ex-girlfriend, singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura regarding a 2016 altercation that matches allegations she made in a now-settled lawsuit filed last November where Combs appears to grab, shove and kick her.

“👀This is not going to work, who is advising him right now?” 50 Cent captioned a post on Instagram alongside a clip of the “I’ll Be Missing You” artist’s apology. “SMH bad move.”

“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life,” he said in the clip. “Sometimes you gotta do that. I was f—ed up. I mean I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”

He then said he was “disgusted” by his actions.

“I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help, going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to be a better man. Each and every day,” Combs added.

The music mogul then explained that he was “not asking for forgiveness” and was “truly sorry.”

A representative for Combs did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

In the days prior to his most recent statement, the record producer/executive shared a post on Instagram on Tuesday, May 14, that read, “Time tells truth.”

He captioned that post with: “LOVE 🖤💫✨⚡️.”

On Friday, May 17, CNN released surveillance video footage of an altercation between Combs and Ventura that matches allegations she made in a now-settled lawsuit from last November.

In the footage, Ventura, 37, can be seen trying to flee the hotel room and walking toward an elevator. Combs follows her and can be seen grabbing her by the neck and throwing her to the ground, before he kicks her and grabs her purse and suitcase.

He then kicks her again and begins dragging her back to the hotel room, before he lets go of his grip and walks away. Then, Combs can be seen sitting in a chair and grabbing something from a nearby table, throwing it at Ventura and walking away. He also faces her again when someone else exits the elevator.

50 Cent, born Curtis Jackson, is embroiled in his own legal dispute as the rapper’s ex and mother of one of his sons, Daphne Joy, has accused him of rape and physical abuse. In early May, the rapper sued Joy, claiming she accused him of such out of “sheer hatred.” Jackson has denied the claims.
