Heavily tattooed OnlyFans star, 23, with multiple piercings on her FACE slams TJ Maxx for rejecting her for a job – accusing retailer of unfairly judging her dramatic look

A woman has accused TJ Maxx of rejecting her for a job over her face, neck and body tattoos as well as numerous piercings.

Ash Putnam, 23, who goes by @ashxobrien on TikTok, revealed she’d applied to be a part-time worker at the retailer only to learn she’d been passed over through an automated email ‘a few weeks’ after applying.

‘So I wanted to come on here and talk about something that is really starting to annoy me,’ she began a TikTok about her failure to land the gig.

Her first complaint was that she’d learned of her rejection through an automated rejection email rather than a phone call. But this is standard practice for large corporations when applicants don’t make it to the first round of interviews.

Ash then decided to go in person to her local TJ Maxx to demand answers as to why she wasn’t hired.

In Ash’s retelling, the employee told her that she didn’t ‘have enough experience,’ and there were candidates who had more experience that she did.

She later explained she’d didn’t ‘need’ the TJ Maxx job – but had wanted it to supplement her income to pay off her debt more quickly.

It’s unclear what Ash’s job history is. However, she prominently advertises her OnlyFans on her TikTok and Instagram, and has spoken about having enough money for extensive plastic surgery on top of her external body modifications.

In a follow-up TikTok, she also mentioned she delivers for UberEats.

When Ash asked if her tattoos were the reason for her rejection, the employee assured her ‘that wasn’t the reason.’

But Ash suspected that wasn’t entirely true.

‘I don’t feel like that’s true, but whatever, I’ll leave it at that,’ she said in the TikTok.

Ash’s visible tattoos did include Satanic imagery, including a goat representing the deity Baphomet with a pentagram on its forehead; and a Leviathan Cross on the back of her hand.

That said, it’s unclear at what point hiring managers would have seen what Ash looked like in connection to her application.

The online application for a TJ Maxx retail associate position does not ask for a portrait; nor does the downloadable PDF of a job application ask for any sort of picture of prospective hires.

Still, Ash took even more issue with the rationale of corporations wanting to see prior relevant work experience for entry-level, minimum-wage jobs.

‘I’m just wondering how teenagers and young adults who haven’t had a job before, how are they supposed to get employed if these places are only hiring people with experience?’ she questioned.

‘So younger people just can’t get a job because they haven’t worked enough? So, like, they’ll deny a 16-year-old a job because they don’t have enough work experience?

‘Like, it just doesn’t make any sense to me.

‘I hate that my tattoos are such a defining factor for me getting a job or not. Like, just because I have tattoos doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be a good worker.

‘I do not understand that at all. Because quite literally, some of the most smart, intelligent people I’ve ever met are people with tattoos and piercings.’

She also took aim at places that leave up ‘hiring now’ signs in perpetuity.

‘Those signs have been up for months, and I know plenty of people are looking for work. So how are they still not hired?’ she contended.

‘I just feel like this is something that needs to be talked about. It’s so annoying.’

While there was no hard evidence that the TJ Maxx rejection came about due to Ash’s outward appearance, thousands who took to the comments of her TikTok were quick to argue that her tattoos did in fact disqualify her from the client-facing job at the relatively vanilla store.

Thousands took to the comments, with most agreeing that the prominent tattoos, some with Satanic connotations, weren't doing Ash any favors in the hiring process

‘Tattooer here, it’s probably the tattoos,’ one offered.

‘There’s tattoos… And then there’s TATTOOS,’ a second pointed out.

‘As someone who loves tattoos, it’s 100% the tattoos,’ a third chimed in.

‘There’s a reason that tattoo artists refer to face tattoos as career enders,’ a fourth suggested.

At least two people with experience hiring people added that the tattoos would have likely been a dealbreaker, if not the dealbreaker.

‘HR supervisor here. There is no way any company would put you in front of customers like TJ maxx,’ one contended.

‘I used to be a hiring manager for tjmaxx and I will tell you it’s the facial piercings and tattoos,’ a second admitted.

And others agreed, as mere outsiders considering the bigger picture at hand.

‘I’m sure your a great worker but let’s be fr (for real) here,’ one reasoned.

‘I wanna be this delulu,’ a second quipped.

And as another put it: ‘Most times, when you flip the bird at society, society flips one right back.’
