Aussie says world wants to ‘watch Jake Paul get murdered’ in Mike Tyson fight
Aussie boxer Ebanie Bridges believes viewers could see “Jake Paul get murdered” when the YouTuber fights boxing icon Mike Tyson.
Australian boxer Ebanie Bridges believes Mike Tyson will “demolish” Jake Paul in their fight, describing the boxing icon as a “f***ing animal”.
Tyson, 57, is coming out of retirement to fight Paul, 27, in a heavyweight bout on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Texas. The fight will be streamed live on Netflix.
Paul (9-1) suffered his first loss against Tommy Fury, but he will go in as the underdog against one of the most fearsome fighters ever to step foot in a boxing ring.
Bridges, who lost her IBF bantamweight title to Miyo Yoshida in December, believes Tyson is still a seriously scary proposition for Paul, despite the 30-year age gap between the pair.
“Watching him on the pads is exciting as f***.
“I don’t even know if it’s a real fight. It’ll be exciting. I think Mike Tyson will demolish Jake Paul. It’s going to get people tuning in, who’s not going to want to watch Mike Tyson?
“A lot of people are going to tune in to try watch Jake Paul get murdered. They don’t like Jake Paul.”
Tyson will likely be a heavy favourite to win the fight, which has been sanctioned as a professional bout by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations following speculation the Tyson and Paul would wear headgear.
Tyson owns a 50-6-2 record, with 44 knockouts.

“I don’t know how the commission can licence it. A lot of those misfits fights aren’t licenced.
“I feel like it’s going to be an exhibition. I think he’ll be a winner but I don’t think he’ll hold back. He’ll wanna teach the boy a lesson. I don’t know.
“Good on him. You’ve gotta respect Jake Paul. He’s getting in there with an absolute f***ing murderer. A killer.
“He’s got balls to get in there with Mike Tyson. Proper big balls. No matter how old Mike Tyson is, he’s still got it. You can’t say he doesn’t, coz he does.”

Bridges, 36, is throwing herself into other ventures while she waits for her next fight, and is full of respect for Paul and the new eyeballs he is bringing to boxing.
“I like Jake Paul,” she said.
“I like what he’s doing. He’s helping women’s boxing a lot. He’s helping sponsor the USA boxing team. He does a lot of things for boxing and you can’t hate the kid.
“Amanda Serrano, she would be nowhere near where she is without him.”
Serrano will fight Ireland’s Katie Taylor on the Paul-Tyson undercard in a clash between arguably the two best female boxers on the planet.
“He’s very smart in what he’s doing,” said Bridges, who is earning a fortune sharing her daily life on OnlyFans, working with Conor McGregor’s Forged Irish Stout brand and doing a bit of tutoring — going back to her former profession as a Sydney maths teacher.
“He’s setting himself up and helping set other people up,” she said.
“Jake Paul likes to challenge himself, I understand it. He’s always challenging himself and trying to do better. He’s still novice-y but he’s stepping up and you’ve got to give him credit for it.
“Anyone who gets in the gym to get their head punched, you’ve got to give them credit no matter how experienced they are.
“It’s like giving sh*t to an amateur boxer because they’re only an amateur or only had a year or two boxing. I don’t like that.
“I think you need to respect everyone who gets in that ring and now have a whinge or cry about it because someone makes more money than you because they’ve built their fame up through other ways.”

Tyson and Paul faced off this week in New York, with Tyson admitting his “body is s***”.
But he said it was a “no-brainer” to agree to fight the YouTuber.
“He’s the new up-and-coming guy on the scene. I like shaking the sports world to its core, and I’m doing that now. It’s just something I want to do.”
Tyson dismissed critics who are sceptical of his age and just how capable he still can be inside the ring.
“No one else can do this,” Tyson said. “Who else can shut the sporting world down? No one else can do it.”
Paul has leveraged his massive social media following to a new endeavour in boxing, bringing the intrigue in seeing Tyson fight again coupled with Paul’s following has helped make what is expected to be an extremely lucrative fight for both in one of the country’s largest venues.
Netflix is banking on it, as the bout marks its first foray into streaming live combat sports.
It will be available to all Netflix subscribers — without any additional pay-per-view cost.
“This is quite literally the biggest fight of the 21st century,” Paul said.
“Because of the fact that it’s Mike Tyson versus me, but also the fact that it’s in 700 million households.”
