Harrison Butker, the Kansas City Chiefs kicker, received criticism from the media for giving a questionable speech that discussed a variety of topics, including Pride Month, women’s roles in the house, abortion and women’s reproductive health.

Butker spoke directly to the female grads at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, claiming they have been the victims of the most heinous lies.

Numerous well-known people expressed their strong disapproval of the NFL kicker’s speech on social media, and a petition to get him fired by the Kansas City Chiefs is currently circulating. As of Friday, May 17, the petition has amassed nearly 180,000 signatures.

On the other hand, Butker has now gotten support from his teammate Chris Jones and former wideout Cole Beasley after the controversy surrounding his commencement address.

“I love you, Butker! My brotha,” Jones replied to the popular petition asking the Chiefs to cut his teammate on X (Twitter).

Wide receiver Cole Beasley played for the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Dallas Cowboys before retiring from the NFL last season. He added in his writing that he “was with Butker.”

Harrison Butker helped the Kansas City Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls in the last two years.

What did Harrison Butker say about women?

Harrison Butker fully articulated his opinions during his Benedictine College commencement speech, drawing criticism from all sides.

He spoke against the LGBTQ+ community, women’s position in society, abortion and President Joe Biden, among other issues on which he displayed contempt.

Butker sparked outrage when he said that women found greater fulfillment in marriage and raising children than in pursuing jobs, calling Pride Month a “deadly sin” and criticizing diversity and fairness measures.

“I think you, the women, have had the most diabolical lies told to you. I want to speak directly to you for a brief moment,” Butker said. “How many of you are sitting here now about to cross this stage and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you are going to get in your career?

“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world.”

The kicker’s views weren’t well received among netizens, based on the numerous scathing responses left on his posts on Instagram and about him on other social media platforms.
