Jason Tatum’s Prosperity and Life: A Journey from Ordinary to NBA Star
One fine day, when Tatum was in fifth grade, he and his mother returned home and saw a pink piece of paper on the floor. The home that Tatum’s mother gave everything and worked so hard to buy was foreclosed on. Tatum remembers that day, saying his mother was crying and he didn’t know what to do. He just felt helpless. He wanted to help but he was only 11 years old. His mother had to wipe away tears, saying she would handle everything. And she did it. She got him into one of the best high schools in the state to study. However, his academic life was not always smooth. One time, Tatum’s teacher in first grade asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, but when he said he wanted to be an NBA star, the teacher told him to choose something more realistic. The whole class laughed at Tatum and he began to cry. He told his mother what happened and the next day, his mother stormed into the classroom to clarify. She said that if she asked him a question and he answered, it would not be appropriate to tell him something he could not achieve. His mother believed that anything was possible and that was enough for Tatum to pursue his dreams.
One of his high school coaches, Frank Barnett, talked about how he worked hard to achieve his goals. He said he arrived at school around 6:30 every day, but Tatum arrived between 5:45 and 6 and worked every day. What’s impressive is that he did it every day. He remembered that the only day he had off was the day after their team won the championship. It was his only day off. That’s just the way he works. He just worked and worked and worked. So what about your father, he’s never around at all. Tatum’s mother raised him, but his father was always nearby. Justin Tatum was always busy coaching basketball, so Jason spent his childhood visiting his father in the locker room, sitting in the front row and listening to pre-game talks. And when Justin was playing professionally in the Netherlands, Brandy took Tatum to watch him play. And it worked perfectly because Justin’s professional career ended just in time for him to coach Jason’s high school team.
When looking at it directly, Jason’s deprived life can be called balanced because on one hand, they faced financial hardship but on the other hand, he has a basketball pedigree and Tatum is his son. The biological son of former NBA player Larry Hughes and also a relative of former NBA player and current coach of the Los Angeles Clippers Tyronn Lue. So, it can be said that basketball runs in his blood.
So what is Jason Tatum’s life like now? There certainly isn’t any pink paper on the door anymore. Let’s explore Jason Tatum’s prosperous life.
Starting with money, Brandi must be proud
