The singer recently spoke with Independent.co.uk and said the following about his family life:

“These are all the wonderful clichés of rock stardom. It’s about never lying about having been a saint, but not being a fool enough to [mess] up the home life, either.”

Jon Finds Drugs Scary

He also talked  about the impact of taking drugs on his vocal health:

“It was smoking something that was laced with something else, and I remember feeling out-of-body high and thinking, ‘I don’t like this. I don’t feel comfortable with this. It was scary, and I was so young that I was glad I had that sort of ‘scared straight’ moment. I couldn’t blame it on putting anything up my nose. The only thing that’s ever been up my nose is my finger!”

Jon And His Wife’s Words On Their Marriage

Bon Jovi and his wife, Dorothea Hurley, got married at Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas in 1989 and had four kids. In a 2020 interview with People, the rocker shared the secret to a long-lasting relationship:

“Mutual respect. Having grown up together and grown together. And we really like each other. We want to hang out.”

Dorothea added after her husband’s words:

“I always said I was good at spotting potential too. I have a gift.”

Bon Jovi Has A Clean History With Drugs

Unlike most others in the rock scene of the 1980s, Jon never had drug problems. He previously told the Irish Times:

“To be honest with you, I didn’t have the capacity to handle drugs. I didn’t find joy in it, and I didn’t need to bury myself emotionally, so what was the purpose? Mine [his childhood] was as f*cked up as anyone else’s, but not enough to start using drugs. I saw a lot of friends die, or there was havoc in their personal lives, but I just didn’t have the need or desire.”

The musician is currently excited for Bon Jovi’s new album, ‘Forever.’ It will arrive on June 7. It is unclear whether the band will go on a tour for it due to Jon’s ongoing recovery process from his vocal problems.
