Ted Nugent Announces New Shows: He Backs Down From Retirement?

Ted Nugent changed his mind on retirement once more and announced new shows on Instagram.

Last year, the rocker finished his Adios Mofo ’23 farewell tour. His latest solo band during the tour featured drummer Jason Hartless and bassist Johnny Schoen.

Nugent shared upcoming show dates on his post and wrote in the caption:

“Get your tickets now for a small run of surprise SpeakEazy shows! Get tix for the May 4th show at https://www.stubwire.com/c/1050/twofrogsgrill/’ Blues, Brews & BBQ’ with Jared James Nichols & Wes Jeans – May 4 Saturday, 6:00 PM, 2024, Heritage Hall, Ardmore, OK, USA.”

Nugent Said He Would Keep Doing Shows

Following his farewell tour, the singer appeared as a guest on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk and shared how retirement days went for him:

“Well, my guitars are still breeding. My guitars are having an orgy right now in my man cave cuckoo’s nest. I play my guitar every day. I’ve got a band here in Texas — Jon Kutz on the drums and Johnny Big on bass and vocals, and we jam all the time. We do a bunch of Ted Nugent speakeasies, just some roustabout sh*tkicker rock and roll getdowns at various places around the state of Texas — sometimes spontaneous, sometimes it’s promoted. But I’ll still do gigs; I just won’t go on tour.”

Still, Nugent hinted before that he would keep performing shows on The Nightly Nuge, saying:

“I’ll still play gigs, we did a Ted Nugent Speakeasy at the Rattlesnake Roadhouse sold out for two nights in Walnut Spring, and it was an absolute 1959 rock n’ roll experimental adventure orgy of music, so there’ll still be some speakeasies going on.”

As he announced, the rocker will play five shows throughout April and May 2024. His first performance on Speakezy Rockouts is on April 13, and the latest one is on May 4.
