“Those Guys Turned Into F*cking Michael Jordan”- Jaylen Brown Caught Off-Guard by Pacers Fightback in Close Win for Celtics
Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton’s unavailability gave the Boston Celtics a boost going into game 3 after taking a 2-0 lead in Boston. However, after entering the game, the Cs realized that the Pacers had come with full force to bounce back in the trailing series. Though they couldn’t ultimately secure the win, their outstanding performance forced Boston’s Jaylen Brown to distribute some high praise.
Following their 114-111 win, Brown admitted in a post-game interview, “They were shooting the ball well. Some of those guys turned into f**king Michael Jordan or whatever… We just couldn’t figure it out.”
The Pacers had taken an early 12-point lead by the end of the opening half and tried defending it even in the third, but the Celtics flipped the script in the final quarter and snatched the win in the final seconds of Game 3.
Brown further stated, “In the 4th quarter, we just stayed close enough. Stayed right there. We kept saying ‘they gon let us back in the game’… In the 4th quarter, we made some big-time plays… We just had a great, great, great win tonight.”
Andrew Nembhard, 24, found his rhythm on Saturday night and bagged 32 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists, but he got overshadowed by Boston’s Jayson Tatum who recorded a game-high 36 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Jaylen Brown was also a force on the court as he continued his brilliant form and finished with a win.
Jaylen Brown Continues His Dominance in NBA Playoffs
Though Jaylen Brown was not rewarded for his remarkable performance this season, he kept dropping masterclasses in the playoffs. Going against the Miami Heat in the first round of the post-season tournament, Brown scored 22.8 points coupled with 7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting at 51.66% from the floor.
The 3-time All-Star’s numbers rose a bit by 23.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists on shooting at 57.76% per game while facing the Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinal series.
However, Brown is scoring 30 points per game on 52.8% shooting against the Indiana Pacers and scored his highest 40 points in Game 2. The 27-year-old has been integral to beating the team by 3-0 in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Celtics need one more win in the series to confirm their championship finals spot, and they would most likely want to snatch it on Monday.
