It Ends With Us, the eagerly awaited new romantic film starring Blake Lively, finally has a trailer.

Blake, 36, portrays Lily Bloom, a woman who, prior to the return of her ex-partner Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar, 32), embarks on a passionate, abusive relationship with Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni, 40).

Baldoni is the director of the movie, which is based on Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book.

Blake’s close friend Taylor Swift also contributes vocals to the teaser; the music is her 2020 song, My Tears Ricochet.

Before the two of them get along and start dating, the trailer opens with Lily meeting Ryle at her new flower store.

Blake’s character finds that things quickly grow heated.

When the two embark on a date, things quickly get hσt and bothered

Ryle says, “I want to see you again,” to Lily. “You see me now,” she quips.

But then Ryle shows a darker side.

Ryle is seen getting to his feet and slamming something into the ground during a heated exchange of words.

“I apologize so much,” he sincerely says to her thereafter.

However, Atlas then makes a comeback. A screen flashes back to their childhood friendship as Lily is depicted dashing into him.

Atlas thinks, “I still remember the day I saw you in the window.”

But when Ryle’s darker side shows through, things get tσxic.

Lily answers, “Yeah, we were just kids then.”

Atlas asks, ‘Is that your guy?’ as he notices the man she is holding hands with.

Yes. Ryle is that,’ she responds.

‘Do you love him?’ Ryle asks Lily at one point, giving off the impression that she is distrustful of him.

Her words to him are, “I love you.”

“I didn’t ask that question,” Ryle says.

Before long, Lily runs into her old love, Atlas

Moments from Lily’s previous relationship with Atlas appear on screen.

Lily asks Ryle a poignant question: “If you had a daughter one day, what would you say to her?”

“She told you that she was being harmed by the person she loved.” Should you say something to her?

August 9 is when It Ends With Us will be released.

Because It Ends With Us is based on her parents’ relationship, Hoover has said that writing it was “the hardest book I’ve ever written.”
