Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has had a busy last month and change.
The 2024 SEC Player of the Year was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft on April 15. She made her pro debut Wednesday. On Friday, she graduated from LSU.
Reese now bids adieu to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a degree after having majored in interdisciplinary studies and minored in communication studies, leadership development and psychology. She spent two years at LSU after having started her career at Maryland.
The 22-year-old wrote her name into LSU sports lore after playing a key role in the Tigers’ 2023 national championship, the first in program history. Shaquille O’Neal, another LSU legend, went so far in April 2023 as to call her “probably the greatest athlete ever” to come out of the school.

Reese made a solid impression in her first WNBA game, finishing with 12 points, eight rebounds and one steal in an 87-79 loss to the Dallas Wings. She figures to play an important part in the frontcourt as the Sky manage their rebuild.
Chicago will be back in action Saturday night against Dallas.
