While Caitlin Clark has been the target of much criticism since her debut in the WNBA, LeBron James has decided to break the silence to defend her.

A statement which should have been unanimous, but which ultimately was the source of a big controversy for the King.

LeBron James has been in Caitlin Clark’s shoes, he knows what it’s like to be expected in a professional league like the messiah, to be treated and considered a superstar from his first game…

So obviously, in the last episode of his podcast, he decided to send a big message to the Fever rookie in the WNBA, strongly criticized by some fans because they were considered too highlighted.

The King certainly thought he was doing the right thing by asking Internet users to stop being jealous of a 22-year-old young woman, and yet he has since found himself immersed in a very American controversy.

Indeed, many voices were raised against him, accusing him in particular of defending a white player, but not all black superstars who also suffer degrading comments…

LeBron caught in a nasty controversy in the WNBA

Has LeBron ever spoken out about his “little sister” A’ja Wilson before, like he just did for Caitlin Clark? That’s a real question.

LeBron had a great opportunity here, but he decided otherwise. My God.

LeBron saying, “Caitlin Clark is the reason a lot of great things are going to happen in the WNBA,” all while making black players who worked to grow the league invisible, is the reason people look up to her . She’s a postman, at most.

For WNBA fans, LeBron James’ intervention regarding Caitlin Clark was deplorable. Indeed, many criticize her for breaking the silence for a white player, even though it is black women who have been fighting since the beginning to grow the league. Clearly, the season risks being explosive in this league.

The Caitlin Clark case is fascinating to follow. It is undeniable that it brings new visibility to the league, but the fans of the first hour would very much like the glory to be shared. LeBron just learned this the hard way.
