Social media detectives discovered what Cameron Brink said to Caitlin Clark in their post-game handshake on Tuesday night.
Tuesday marked the second meeting between Caitlin Clark and Cameron Brink, the first and second overall picks of the 2024 WNBA Draft, respectively. Brink and the Los Angeles Sparks avenged their May 24 loss to Clark’s Indiana Fever by squeaking out a close 88-82 victory on the road.
After the game, social media detectives discovered Brink’s heartfelt three-word post-game message to Clark. It appears as though Brink told the Indiana guard, “Good job baby” as they embraced.
Brink played 24 minutes in Tuesday’s contest, tallying three points, as many rebounds, two assists, one steal and a pair of blocks in the Sparks’ 88-82 victory. Kia Nurse’s 22 points led Los Angeles, with Aari McDonald contributing 21 points of her own.
Caitlin Clark gave the Fever every chance to win, racking up a game-high 30 points to go along with five rebounds, six assists, three steals and a trio of blocks in 34 minutes of playing time.
Through her first eight WNBA games, the NCAA Division 1 basketball all-time scoring leader has averaged 17.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game while shooting 31.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Caitlin Clark & Cameron Brink Have One More Meeting This Year
There’s only one regular season meeting remaining between the Fever and Sparks. That contest will take place in Indiana on Sept. 4 (7:00 p.m EST), the first of a six-game homestand for Clark and company.
After hosting Seattle on Thursday night, Clark and the Fever will finish their two-game homestand against Chicago on Saturday. After that, they’ll begin a three-game road trip that commences against the New York Liberty on Sunday.
