However, the two companies do not give details of exactly what brand the remote-controlled weapon system was, but it is believed to be a Turkish development. ULAQ the first Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle of the Turkish industry.
According to the technical characteristics of the boat, the maximum speed that will be able to develop on the water surface is up to 130 km / h, and the maximum range is just over 800 km. ULAQ integrates day and night optical systems and Passive & Active Stabilization Systems.
The drone will have an autonomous functional structure to interact with other weapons systems of the Turkish Navy.
CİRİT & L-UMTAS Guided Missile Systems are part of the ULAQ armament. According to publicly available information, ULAQ will be able to carry and use four Cirit laser-guided 70 mm missile systems, as well as eight Mizrak-U modern long-range air-to-surface anti-tank missiles. BulgarianMilitary.
com reminds us that in 2021 this unmanned ground vehicle was the first in the world to destroy a target after launching a rocket remotely.
ULAQ will be able to operate on waves from 2.4 meters to 4 meters, or according to the international categorization – Sea State 5.
The autonomous model of the boat will allow it to interact in joint operations with UAV, A-UAV, T-UAV. ULAQ also has an embedded GNSS anti-jamming infrastructure, high-resolution photographic intelligence, a relay station, a drone swarm capability, a high-resolution EOS, and a state-of-the-art radar system.
ULAQ is a brigade to be transported by warships as part of their armaments.
The mission of the unmanned vehicle will be focused mainly on reconnaissance and surveillance, but based on the armament this boat may be involved in naval missions to protect the coastal strips of its operator’s territorial waters.
The Turks say that this boat is suitable for escort and asymmetric warfare.
ULAQ will not be the only decision of the Turkish navy. the two companies are already developing several versions of this boat, with sources claiming that there will be at least six, each with a different mission and armament.
