GloRilla has officially confirmed a release for her previously-teased collaboration with Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion.
Last week, Cardi made a surprise appearance during the New York City stop of Megan‘s Hot Girl Summer Tour, which features support from Glo. The three ladies appeared on stage together at one point in the night, where they performed a handful of hits together — “WAP,” “Bongos,” “Tomorrow 2” and “Wanna Be.”
GloRilla also took the opportunity to announce that Cardi would be jumping on her recent Meg-assisted song “Wanna Be,” which lives on her new Ehhthang Ehhthang mixtape. She told the audience that it was “about to drop” and that fans should “stay tuned” – and now it has an official release of Friday (May 31).
“Y’all been asking for this so here it is!! Wanna be remix featuring @theestallion @iamcardib coming THIS FRIDAY!!,” Glo wrote on X (formerly Twitter) this week with the artwork.
With this new song marking the third collab between Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, the pair may have even more on the way in the near future.
In a September interview with Complex promoting her Flamin’ Hot University initiative with Doritos, the Houston Hottie hinted at dropping a joint project with Cardi, saying they “are making enough music” to make it happen.
“I literally think that’s the route that we’re going,” she said when asked about the prospect of doing a project together. “So I’ve done two songs for her. And now I feel like I’m in a space where I know exactly what songs I want her to do for me. So we’re really building a little EP already.
“We’re gonna have enough music that we need to go on tour together. Me and [Cardi B] going out together will be so amazing. We are already so cool. And I feel like we got similar fans. So if she wanted to do a little EP, I would definitely be so down to do that, but we are making enough music to already have that.”
Speaking about her collaborative chemistry with the Bronx bombshell in a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Megan said: “I feel like we hype each up so well. Anytime she might be feeling a way, I’m definitely her sunshine.”
She added: “She’s so sweet and she’s so kind, and that’s why I really like her — ’cause she’s real. You don’t really come across a lot of raw people. Whatever comes to her mind first, that’s what she’s saying, that’s how she feels … I absolutely love that about her.”
