Caitlin Clark is not buzzing off from being a phenom in the basketball world. She is a history-maker, a sharpshooter, and a game-changer who entered this March Madness with a bang, already surpassing the NBA champion Steph Curry’s record. As Clark started her fourth season at Iowa, she not only exceeded expectations but also settled some on-court grudges from the last national championship not necessarily with Angel Reece. Several leagues and numerous media titans are placing millions of dollars on her because, well, she’s probably the best sports star ever produced!

When Caitlin Clark entered a new league of Titans
On March 9, 2024, Iowa’s 22-year-old point guard Caitlin Clark shattered yet another record during the Hawkeyes’ 95-62 Big Ten Tournament victory over the Penn State Lady Lions. Clark finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists, shattering the NCAA Division I record for the most 3-pointers made in a season by a woman or a man. By doing so, Clark surpassed NBA player Steph Curry in terms of the most three-pointers made in a single NCAA Division-I season. Before making her first 11 3-pointers, Clark missed them all until the fourth quarter.

Curry set the record in the 2007–08 season while playing for the Davidson Wildcats with 162 successful three-pointers from outside the arc. He shared the record with Darius McGhee of the Liberty Flames. With her 163rd 3-pointer of the year, she surpassed Davidson’s Stephen Curry (2007–08) and Liberty’s Darius McGhee (2022-23) for the record for the most by a D-I player. But now, Clark has eclipsed the man who is regarded by many as the best three-point shooter in basketball history.
Clark previously surpassed Hall of Famer “Pistol” Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points on March 3 during a victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes. She completed 2 of 14 long-range shots and 5 of 19, leading the field as the all-time leading scorer in D-I. Throughout her time in college, she had just ever been held without a 3-point shot. On January 13, 2022, Clark was 0 for 6 from outside the arc but still managed to score 24 points in a victory over Purdue.
