Previously, the Indian Navy rejected the proposal to turn INS Viraat into a museum. INS Viraat belongs to the Centaur class, with a tonnage of 28,700 tons, a length of 226.5m, a speed of 52km/h, a range of 10,500 km at a speed of 26km/h, and a maximum number of 2,100 people.
