Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga is someone who needs no introduction. She is one of the Academy Award-winning songwriters for ‘A Star Is Born’ who has 12 Grammy awards and 29 nominations to her name. Music isn’t the only thing that defines her as she is also known for her bold fashion statements and even bolder activism.
Gaga, like most artists, has a unique creative process while writing songs and she has written songs that topped charts for weeks so the process she follows is definitely working. But what is the path that she takes while producing music and how does it set her apart from the rest of the industry?
The Legend Of Lady Gaga: Career and Personal Life
Lady Gaga
Born as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta on March 28, 1986, in New York City Lady gaga is a singer and actor who is loved and hated for pretty much the same reasons: her provocative lyrics and extremely strong vocals.
She studied music at the Tisch School of Arts in New York City before dropping out to pursue an independent career. She then adopted the stage name Lady Gaga and worked towards living up to that name which basically involved over-the-top fashion looks and bold musical ventures.
Her single ‘Just Dance’ became a hit in the clubs of the US and Europe and landed on top of the Billboard Pop Songs chart. Gaga then produced several hit numbers ranging from ‘Poker Face’ and ‘Love Game’ to ‘Paparazzi’.
Lady Gaga’s love life has been as notorious as her lyrics. The singer has been linked to designer Matthew Williams, and singer Taylor Kinney who she got engaged in 2015 but later called it off in 2016 after five years of togetherness.
Lady Gaga then started dating talent agent Christian Carino and got engaged to him in 2018 which she accidentally revealed by referring to him as her fiancé before calling it quits.
Relationship rumors once again sparked between her and Bradley Cooper as the duo worked together in ‘A Star Is Born’ where they were suspiciously convincing in the role of star-crossed lovers.
This also stirred some controversy as Bradley was in a committed relationship at the time but the two stars time and again stressed that they were just good friends.
Lady Gaga’s Creative Process Is Like “Vomiting“
Lady Gaga
While talking about how she came up with ‘Born This Way’ she said that she had to overcome certain personal and emotional challenges before dedicating this album to herself.
“The greatest challenge in writing Born This Way is I had had to become confident and secure in myself. I had to leave my insecurity behind me whatever residual scars I spent two years delving into my wounds,” she stated. In an interesting conversation with James Corden, she revealed that she could come up with songs in a mere 10 minutes which include several hits like ‘Just Dance’ and ‘Poker Face’ along with ‘Born This Way’ which became an anthem of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Lady Gaga further explained her creative process by comparing it with vomiting when she said, “The creative process is approximately 15 minutes of vomiting my creative ideas in the forms of melodies usually… and some sort of a theme, lyric, idea… it all comes in approximately 15 minutes of this giant regurgitation of my thoughts and feelings – and then I spend days, weeks, months, years, fine-tuning.
“The idea is that you honor your vomit. You have to honor your vomit.” Many artists have previously shared how they come up with their art and Lady Gaga’s vision and method are certainly the most fascinating and interesting of them all.
