Lady Gaga Deserves an Oscar Just for Her A Star Is Born Interviews (Video)

Lady Gaga is currently earning rave reviews for her turn as Ally in Bradley Cooper’s remake of A Star Is Born. Ally is, for all intents and purposes, the star referenced in the title: a struggling singer who achieves international fame after a rock-country star on the decline (Cooper) lends a helping hand.

But Gaga’s star power extends far beyond what you see in the movie. The pop icon is also delivering laughs, feels, and tears on the press tour for A Star Is Born. From Venice to Toronto, Gaga’s been giving interview after interview about this movie, and spawned so many viral moments in the process. We’re compiling all the best ones for you in this handy post, which we’ll update as the tour continues.

For now, though, enjoy these interview clips that are Oscar-worthy all their own.

When she cried after her costar said she killed every single scene she’s in, and everyone stood up and clapped. (Start around the 36-minute mark.)

When she had this totally relatable brain freeze on the red carpet. (Start around the 3:33 mark.)

The way she walked in this dress on a red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Every time she’s talked about being Italian. It’s a long-running joke in the Gaga fan universe that she always talks about being Italian. Here’s proof.

When Gaga explains how she tried to scam Bradley Cooper into thinking she wasn’t wearing makeup. (Start around the 15-second mark.)

The time she cried and hugged Cooper after a screening of the movie caused a standing ovation. (Yes, another standing ovation!)

Her touching sentiments about the gay community from this interview. (Start at 20:08.)

When she gave the best answer to this filler question about if she prefers “glam” or “outrageous” looks. “I like to do whatever I want whenever I feel like it.” (Start around the 1:45 mark).

When she felt the need to clarify that the name of her first single was “Just Dance.” As if we somehow forgot. It reached number one in nine countries, people! (Start around the 20-second mark.)

The time she almost re-created her “talented, brilliant, incredible” meme. She starts saying the words around 30 seconds, but then stops herself and subtly laughs.

Here’s that meme (from a Hollywood Reporter interview), for reference:

Every time she’s talked about heating up leftovers for Cooper. It’s been a staple story on this press tour. The pasta! The frying pan! This food must’ve been damn good if she keeps talking about it.

In fact, she’s told several of the same stories on this press tour. The leftovers, like we said; the revelation that Cooper can sing; how only one person out of 100 needs to believe in you; the fact her and Brad are from the East Coast. I can lip-synch her interviews at this point.

The beginning of her interview with Ellen DeGeneres, where they just say “ladyyyyyyy” over and over.

And their game of Burning Questions. Turns out Gaga is a fan of 90 Day Fiancé.

The end of this interview, where Gaga says she wants to take a bath in the middle of the day. Girl, same. (Start around the 20:50 mark.)
