What is the breed of the dog in ‘Arthur the King’?
The upcoming Mark Wahlberg film, “Arthur the King,” features a dog called Ukai as the star of the film, as Entertainment Weekly reports. The breed of dog is a mix of Australian Shepherd, Border Collie, and Bouvier des Flandres.
In addition, the film narrates the remarkable true tale of adventure racer Mikael Lindnord. He encountered a stray dog in Ecuador that swiftly became his steadfast racing companion.
Although Wahlberg is allergic to dogs, he has four of them. He wanted to adopt Ukai because they had become quite close during the film’s shooting. However, Ukai’s trainer rejected the proposal.
Wahlberg explained, “Oh my god, I tried to bribe the trainer to sell me the dog … I offered her whatever she could want … I just fell in love with him.”
What is the breed of Ukai, the dog who plays Arthur?
Ukai plays Arthur in the film “Arthur the King”. The furry animal is a mix of three breeds: an Australian Shepherd, a Border Collie, and a Bouvier des Flandres. The film is based on a biography by Mikael Lindnord called, “Arthur.” The book’s blurb reads, “The epic true story of one man, his dog, and how they found each other.”
The Australian Shepherd is famous for its intelligence and agility. They are versatile herding dogs with striking coats of various colors and patterns. Meanwhile, Border Collies are often regarded as the most intelligent dog breed. They have exceptional herding skills and an intense work ethic. Lastly, Bouvier des Flandres is a robust and sturdy breed, boasting a calm demeanor and loyalty to their families.
Hence, Ukai has seemed to inherit a blend of intelligence, agility, and loyalty from his heritage. Audiences can now enjoy the performance of this magnificent dog as the film hits theatres on Mar. 15.
