Nicolas Cage escorted home by police

DRIVE ANGRY: NICOLAS CAGE IS PRESENTLY FACING FINANCIAL PROBLEMS OWING MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN UNPAID TAXES

Nicolas Cage was escorted to his hotel by New Orleans police on Friday night.

The ‘Drive Angry’ actor was taken back to where he was staying after a disturbance at a restaurant, which saw a window get smashed.

Officers said they took Nicolas – who was in the city for its annual Mardi Gras festival – back from the city’s Stella eatery for his “own safety”.

Officer Juan Barnes told website RadarOnline.com: “We can confirm that we did respond to an incident at that location on Friday night at around 10.45pm and that Mr. Cage needed some assistance to go back to his hotel.

“A window was found to be broken at the restaurant but the owners decided it was an internal matter and that they would handle it.

“There was no formal complaint or charge written-up.”

It is not known if Nicolas – who is presently facing financial problems owing millions of dollars in unpaid taxes – was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, or if he was responsible for the broken window.

The ‘Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance’ actor has previously made public outbursts, including stunning onlookers in December last year when he launched a bizarre rant outside of a nightclub in Bucharest, Romania.

In footage, shot on a mobile phone by an onlooker Nic, 47, is seen screaming: “Get in that car and walk away. I’ll f***ing die because of honour. I’ll f***ing die right now. Don’t touch me you little b***h

“See my eyes – respect them as you’d respect me.”
