Is that Nicolas Cage underneath all that fur?

Apparently it was, as the idiosyncratic screen legend attended to the Beverly Hills premiere of his new movie Running With The Devil. Not only was he debuting a stunning beard, but he’d also dug out his best denim jacket adorned with a pack of wolves, a Doors t-shirt and a hat reminiscent of Mick ‘Crocodile’ Dundee.

It was a singular look from the Hollywood icon, who strutted the red carpet with his co-star Laurence Fishburne.

The movie, the directorial debut of Jason Cabell, finds Cage as a Walter White-esque character and Fishburne’s ‘The Man’, a master drug trafficker, sent on a mission to discover why a major cartel’s supply line has become compromised.Cage is notably clean shaven in the movie, so perhaps his burly look is down to a future project, a new thriller called Prisoners of the Ghostland, to be made by Japanese director Sion Sono.

The prolific star has a baffling nine movies in either post or pre-production, the next being the sci-fi horror Colour Out Of Space, co-starring Joely Richardson and helmed by Richard Stanley, the director’s first movie since the legendary disaster The Island of Doctor Moreau in 1996.
