White House Releases Statement Over Graphic Taylor Swift A.I. Images That Sent Shockwaves Across The Internet

Social media user ‘Zvbear’ made his ‘X’ account private on Thursday after facing mega backlash from Swift fans as well as others ovr pornographic fake AI created Taylor Swift photos that were shared from his account.

One of the scariest capabilities of artificial intelligence is its ability to generate sometimes genuine-looking images of people with nothing but a text prompt to guide them.

Things got so bad that White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre had to speak out.

Jean-Pierre said the White House was “alarmed” by the graphic A.I. images of Swift going viral on Twitter.

Via ABC News:

“We are alarmed by the reports of the…circulation of images that you just laid out – of false images to be more exact, and it is alarming,” she said.

“While social media companies make their own independent decisions about content management, we believe they have an important role to play in enforcing their own rules to prevent the spread of misinformation, and non-consensual, intimate imagery of real people.”

Jean-Pierre added that “Congress should take – should take legislative action” over graphic, unsolicited A.I. images. The White House previously launched a task force to address online harassment, Jean-Pierre said.

This situation has also led to renewed calls by U.S. lawmakers to crack down on the fast-moving generative AI marketplace. Many celebities have had fake images made of them to sell things, and now it seems Swift has become another victim as sexually inappropriate photos were made of her using AI.

The images were identified as originating from the AI celebrity porn website Celeb Jihad and eventually making their way to the guy who is being blamed for making the picture go incredibly viral.
