Miley Cyrus’ new song Flowers is rumoured to be about her relationship with her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth – and the Leicestershire florist was stunned that she loves their window display
The efforts of a little Leicestershire florist who paid homage to Miley Cyrus and her new song hasn’t gone unnoticed by the singing star.
The small local business didn’t miss the chance to make the most of the performer’s recently released hit Flowers.
The Flower Plant, in Sileby, is well known for its quirky seasonal shopfronts – and knew they had to do something Miley’s fans would love.
But they had no idea the inspiration behind its latest Valentine’s Day window design would catch the eye of the American songstress.
LeicestershireLive report that the shop’s front, which includes the breakup anthem’s catchy chorus, “I can buy myself flowers”, emblazoned in red capital letters across the windows and door.
Owner Kathryn Devereux said Miley’s song about self-empowerment felt ideal for the store, calling the design “bold, eye-catching and rebellious”.
The Wrecking Ball singer was tagged in a customer’s picture of the florist’s fun design on Instagram, which the celeb in turn decided to share on her story.
The post was re-shared on The Flower Plant’s own account with the caption “Yesss @mileycyrus” followed by head-exploding emojis.
The song is rumoured to be about the star’s relationship with her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth.
The Flower Plant chose the particular lyric for its Valentine’s Day window due to its empowering message. Kathryn previously said: “I absolutely love Miley Cyrus’ new self-love anthem.
“So when it became such a hit so fast and with Valentine’s Day just around the corner it felt like a gift from Miley herself.
“It’s bold, eye catching and it’s rebellious and above all, we just love its message!”
She added: “We generally try to do something that captures the mood of the nation or something that is iconic or trending at the time, or at least something which resonates with us.”
Previous Valentine’s Day shop fronts have included one inspired by Friends, in 2021.
Valentine’s Day 2019 saw an “Addicted to Love” display, while 2020 had a Gavin and Stacey-inspired “You’re tidy” theme.
Kathryn said: “We love being able to use the front of our shop as a giant billboard almost and think it’s fun to play about with different colours seasonally.
“The best part is seeing the reaction of our lovely community in Sileby as well as our loyal followers and supporters on social.
“It’s become a bit of a tradition now. People often tell us how much they look forward to what we’ll do next.”
