Gerard Butler got back into character as the rugged hero as he resumed filming for the Greenland sequel in Hampshire on Tuesday.
The 300 star, 54, was seen heading to the set in the market town of Alton, which was transformed into an apocalypse-hit version of Liverpool for the upcoming film.
Joined by co-star Morena Baccarin, who plays his wife Alison in the film, Gerard looked every inch the leading man weathered by a worldwide catastrophe, as he and his wife wander a street barren by the disaster.
The quiet town has been turned into a city laden with graffitti and destruction, with survivors beginning their quest to find a new home.
The Market Square and some of the town’s roads and parks were closed for the filming of the sequel.

Crystal Anne Quinn, who lives in the town, said: ‘Myself and my mum are avid fans of Gerard Butler.
‘I first watched him in the phantom of the opera and having seen the first Greenland film I am delighted that they’re filming part of the sequel in Alton.
‘We are looking forward to seeing Greenland Migration.’
Between scenes, Gerard and Morena were in good spirits as they chatted to various extras, themselves dressed in ragged costumes.

In Greenland, Gerard starred as a structural engineer John, who is determined to save his family from the worldwide damage of a comet, with himself and his estranged wife Alison determined to reach an emergency shelter in Greenland.
