Despite having two DC characters under his belt, Ritchson apparently isn’t done with the franchise and revealed his dream role was to play Batman. While promoting his upcoming film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, Ritchson spoke with The Hollywood Reporter and expressed his affection for the Dark Knight.
“I would love to play Batman. There, I said it, okay? I’ll shout it from the rooftops: I wanna be Bruce Wayne!”
Ritchson added that he adored Batman because he was the most intelligent superhero. The Reacher actor made the following statement, professing his love for the iconic comic book character.
“Here’s the thing about Batman. You know what his superpower is? Intelligence. Dude is the smartest superhero there is. He’s inventive, and he’s got all the gadgets, but he’s super smart. I want to be that guy.”

As the tweets indicate, most fans were on board with the idea of Ritchson playing Batman and supported his personal campaign for the role. Ritchson’s comments about the qualities of Batman resonated with the fans who feel his passion for the character makes a strong case for him to be cast as the next Dark Knight.
However, some fans were skeptical of the choice, particularly because of Ritchson’s past filmography, which already includes two other DC characters. At the same time, some fans felt that Ritchson wasn’t a household name like previous Batman actors and doubted his acting prowess.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see if Ritchson does land the part of Batman in the future. Ritchson will next appear in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, alongside former Superman actor Henry Cavill. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the film is scheduled to be released on April 19, 2024.
