Yes, it’s already in production…
Reacher will be back for season three – so fans can rest easy knowing their favourite show is on its way!
When the Lee Child adapted series returns to screens, we’ll apparently “get to enjoy Reacher in a new world,” according to series star Alan Ritchson, recently speaking to ComicBook.
But when will that be? Here’s everything we know about Reacher‘s third season.

Reacher season 3 potential release date: When’s it on?
Ritchson himself broke the news about Reacher‘s renewal for a third season. In December 2023, he featured in a behind-the-scenes video ahead of the show’s season two debut, in which he said: “December’s the season of hot cocoa and smiles, and now Reacher.
“That’s right – season two of Reacher premieres [on] December 15 on Prime Video. You know what else December is the season of? Surprises.
“And boy, do I have a surprise for you. That’s right – you’re on the set of season three of Reacher right now. We’re officially underway.”
While Ritchson obviously wasn’t giving much away, it’s still confirmation that Reacher season three is already in production, which is good news indeed.
With that in mind, there’s a very good chance that Reacher could be back on screens before the year is out.
And, since December is – by Ritchson’s admission – the season of Reacher, we might get season three in our stockings in time for Christmas 2024. It certainly wouldn’t be an (ahem) reach to think so.

Reacher season 3 cast: Who will be coming back?
Beyond Reacher‘s very own Alan Ritchson, it’s hard to tell at this stage – the nature of the Reacher game is that things never sit still.
Of season three, Ritchson already confirmed that Reacher would be in a “new world” before adding: “It may not have anything to do with family, with his past, he’s just living that adventure out and that’s kind of the direction that we’ve gone and it seems to really be working.”
This implies that, like with season two, we could very likely be getting a fresh new cast for Reacher‘s third run – but as soon as we know we’ll let you know.

Reacher season 3 plot: What will happen?
While the plot details for Reacher season three naturally haven’t been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the screen adaptation has every intention of remaining true to the narrative laid out in Lee Child’s books.
“I can’t say too much about season three, but I will say there’s a lot of classic ‘Reacher’ stories which are just adventures that he gets sucked into in a big way,” Ritchson confirmed to ComicBook.
Beyond that, it’s hard to pinpoint which parts of Reacher’s on-page journey will make it to screen this season.
The TV show’s first season was based on the first novel Killing Floor, whereas season two jumped right to Bad Luck and Trouble, the 11th book in Child’s series, placing it two years after the events of season one.
By not following the books in a linear trajectory, the show makes it hard to guess what’s coming next – but as always we’ll keep you posted.
Reacher: Season 2 – Official Trailer (Prime Video)
Reacher season 3 trailer: When can I watch it?
Not too long, we hope. If we’re right to assume that season three will land in December 2024 – and with the knowledge that production is already underway – then a sneak peek teaser trailer could hopefully be with fans in late summer or early autumn.
In the meantime, take a look at the trailer for season two above.
