It’s owing to this same reason that when the former bodybuilder discloses his philosophical thoughts on life, the community often lends a close ear, using his advice in both their professional and personal lives.
To reach the heights that Arnold Schwarzenegger is at now is definitely not an easy task.
Even at the age of 76, Arnold Schwarzenegger believes in moving forward and not dwelling on the past.
Recently, Arnie not only made a strong statement about this but also gave a relevant example to make people understand the necessity of looking ahead instead of thinking about what has gone by.
Windshield vs Rearview mirror: Which one would Arnold Schwarzenegger choose?
In a podcast that he was part of, the veteran bodybuilder imparted some wise knowledge that shed light upon the way he sees his journey even after leading such a successful life.
“I never like to look back, because it’s just really not much in it for me, right? It’s just that I always like to look forward to it,” Schwarzenegger made his motto clear.
Then the bodybuilder brought about the analogy of how the situation he was talking about was similar to when one has to make a decision between choosing a rearview mirror or windshield to look through.
He mentioned, “It’s kind of like do I want to look out of the windshield or do I want to look through the rearview mirror when I drive a car?”
“I’d rather look forward to it because I know where I am going than you know rather always looking back. and so that’s the way it is with my life,” Arnie affirmed.

This is one of the few instances where Arnie has ended up giving life advice to his fans. Earlier, when one of his fans was struggling to move forward in his life, the former bodybuilder helped him with some much-needed motivation.
Arnold Schwarzenegger questioned his fan’s self-criticism
When one of Arnie’s fans, Michael was struggling to improve and expressed how he might be bad at certain exercises while being able to do the rest, Arnold Schwarzenegger called him out for being harsh on himself.
He questioned,” Why the hell are you saying you suck?”
The bodybuilder implored how people can move forward if they have a positive outlook about their life, instead of pessimistic thoughts about themselves.
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s willpower and self-motivation are what made him extremely successful in life.
Even now, he still plans to look forward and focus on a better future.
