Donald Glover decided to co-create and star in the Amazon series titled Mr. & Mrs. Smith which is a direct adaptation of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s movie into a series. Starring Glover and Maya Erskine in the lead roles, the series has drawn quite some eyes.
On the other hand, Donald Glover decided to pay homage to Brad Pitt in the most gruesome manner possible. Recreating one of the scenes from his movie where Pitt gets his head cut off, Mr. & Mrs. Smith had a unique way to give tribute to the Fight Club star!

For reasons unknown to mankind, Donald Glover and Maya Erskine, who portray the role of John and Jane Smith in the series, decided to have a similar scene in the show.
With Jane doubting John about infidelity, an assassin by the name of Bev straps a bolito on John’s neck. Unlike Brad Pitt’s movie, Jane quickly snaps the wire off of John’s neck thus saving him in the process.
Since Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were not returning to the series and the bolito is not a real weapon (yet), it only makes sense that the series creators wanted to pay tribute to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in some ways. However, choosing a scene where Pitt’s head snaps off is quite an intriguing choice to recreate.
The Worst Advice A Director Gave Brad Pitt
Having an iconic career, Brad Pitt has worked with a plethora of directors, and oftentimes, they weren’t so normal.
In an interview with the BBC Radio for the promotion of Bullet Train, Brad Pitt was asked about the worst advice a director had given him. Although the actor did not give a name, the answer sounds very Quentin Tarantino-esque.
“I worked with this director. May remain nameless. And he goes, ‘You know when a serial killer has a victim around the throat and chokes him till he pass out and then revives him so he can do it again? Do that.’”
Well, may the director remain anonymous, and may Brad Pitt continue to create iconic movies and stories like these.
The Donald Glover series has received a rating of 6.4/10 on IMDB and a whopping 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and blessings from Pitt! Mr. & Mrs. Smith is available to stream on Prime Video in the U.S.
