Fame that came too early made Macaulay Culkin overwhelmed, extravagant, and addicted to drugs during his youth.

Recently, Disney+ announced the restart of the  Home Alone project – Home Alone . The film will begin filming at the end of 2020. According to  Comicbook , the main cast includes Kenan Thompson, Ally Maki and Chris Parnell. The character of boy Kevin is played by Archie Yates. This role made a name for Macaulay Culkin in the original version.

Released in 1990,  Home Alone  was positively received by audiences, achieved revenue success and became a classic Christmas film. The role of Kevin McCallister helped Macaulay Culkin, then 10 years old, become a star in Hollywood. However, money and fame coming too soon became a “double-edged sword” that destroyed Macaulay Culkin .

Screenwriter John Hughes’ work revolves around Kevin McCallister – who was accidentally abandoned by his family during Christmas. Because of the overwhelming circumstances, the 8-year-old boy fought “alone” against the thieves who broke into his house.

Regarding awards,  Home Alone  was more successful than the sequel. The film received two Oscar nominations (Best Original Song and Best Original Score) and two Golden Globe nominations (Best Comedy Actor and Best Comedy Film).

Macaulay Culkin, who portrays the boy Kevin, was named Outstanding Comedy Actor at the American Comedy Awards in 1991.

The buzz from  Home Alone  is a life-changing opportunity for many artists in the crew. For screenwriter John Hughes, the two  Home Alone parts  are major hits in his career, alongside  Ferris Bueller’s Day Off  and  The Breakfast Club .

For Macaulay Culkin,  Home Alone  helped him become the first child star to have a million-dollar salary (as Thomas in  My Girl , 1991). The actor is also the second youngest artist to take on the position of host of Saturday Night Live.

Culkin’s hard working period lasted from 1990-1994. After his supporting role in  My Girl,  Culkin reunited with the audience with the psychological horror film –  The Good Son  (1993).
