Macaulay Culkin showed off his hilarious and unsettling Home Alone-inspired mask to remind his Twitter followers to stay safe in pandemic times.

Kevin McCallister screaming in Home Alone

A recently turned 40-year-oldMacaulay Culkin is urging people to wear masks — and is doing so in an unforgettable way.Culkin showed off his own coronavirus (COVID-19) mask on Twitter, featuring the iconic scream face of Kevin McCallister, the central character of the Home Alone franchise made famous by the former child star.

“Just staying Covid-safe wearing by the flayed skin of my younger self,” he tweeted to his 830,000 followers. “Don’t forget to wear your masks, kids.”

Culkin stepped away from acting in 1994 and has largely remained out of the spotlight ever since, save for some sporadic movie and film cameo appearances.

However, he isn’t shy about acknowledging his most famous role through social media – often in a tongue-in-cheek manner.

Last August, in response to the announcement of a Home Alone remake for the Disney+ streaming service, Culkin tweeted an unflattering photo of himself in his underwear sitting on the couch with the writing, “This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like.”

Culkin has also reprised his role, offering two different takes on what Kevin McCallister would look like now.

In 2015, he offered a gritty, dark depiction of a traumatized adult Kevin for a parody web series.

In time for Christmas 2018, Culkin portrayed a lighter version of Kevin in a Google Assistant ad, still home alone but more secure thanks to the device.
