Miley Cyrus is making a very public attempt at helping DaBaby as the backlash against the rapper continues to grow over his ignorant comments about those living with HIV/AIDS.

The pop star reached out to the 29-year-old rapper on Instagram via direct message.

She wrote a note to her fans, many of who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community, explaining her decision.

She said, “As a proud and loyal member of the LGBTQIA+ community, much of my life has been dedicated to encouraging love, acceptance, and open-mindedness.”

Miley continued, “The internet can fuel a lot of hate & anger and is the nucleus of cancel culture .. but I believe it can be a place filled with education, conversation, communication & connection.”

She believes it’s easier to “cancel someone” than to “find forgiveness and compassion in ourselves or take the time to change hears and minds.

There’s no more room for division if we want to keep seeing progress. Knowledge is power!”

The decision to reach out to DaBaby is interesting given the majority of the industry has turned its back on him.
