“I’m not perfect … I made a mistake … I’m disappointed in myself for disappointing my fans,” Cyrus told Marie Claire magazine.
When asked whether she was judged unfairly for the leaked video of her smoking the legal hallucinogenic herb salvia, Cyrus did not defend her partying ways that happened five days after her 18th birthday.
“They’re not Miley Cyrus,” she said in the March issue of the magazine. “They’re not role models. So for me it was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for.”
The clip of Cyrus taking a bong hit, posted to TMZ on December 10, showed her struggling to suck in a swirly cloud of smoke as friends encouraged her at a party at her home.
The video player is currently playing an ad.“OK, I’m about to lose it now,” the “Hannah Montana” star protested after taking the hit.
“I’m having a little of a bad trip,” she then added, collapsing into a fit of giggles.
Cyrus, who is in New Orleans to film her starring role in the upcoming movie “So Undercover,” has been shedding her Disney family-friendly image with suggestive dancing and explicit lyrics in the music videos for her latest singles “Can’t Be Tamed” and “Who Owns My Heart.”
