Sylvester Stallone Is Confident about the Cliffhanger Reboot Because of This Reason
SUMMARY
Sylvester Stallone is soon going to grace the big screens in a reboot of Cliffhanger after three decades.
The Expendables star agreed to star in the reboot because it has a script that has impressed him.
Stallone believes that this reboot will work because Cliffhanger was made in a different style than most movies from’70s and ’80s.
Sylvester Stallone is not only one of the best actors in Hollywood but also one of the best action heroes in the industry. That is not to say that he has not tried other genres, but the action genre seems to fit him the best.
His beefed-up body along with the signature snarling look and slurred speech, due to the accidental severing of a nerve during his birth, contribute to his success as an action hero.
Sylvester Stallone is gracing his fans’ screens with the second season of the Paramount Plus reality show- The Family Stallone.
That being said, he is also getting ready to take over the big screen with the anticipated sequel of 1993’s Cliffhanger. During an interview, he revealed the reason for agreeing to do the reboot to be an impressive script.

After years of struggling to make a breakthrough as an actor in the Hollywood entertainment industry, Sylvester Stallone ended up gaining worldwide fame with the lead role in the first installment of the Rocky franchise.
The movie was nominated for 10 Oscars at the 49th Academy Awards.

In 1993, Stallone appeared in the often-overlooked action thriller Cliffhanger, which grossed $255 million worldwide.
Directed by Renny Harlin, the film is based on a concept by climber John Long and follows Gabriel ‘Gabe’ Walker, a mountain climber, who gets involved in a heist of a U.S. treasury plane flying through the Rocky Mountains.
Three decades later, the Rambo star is set to star in the sequel of the movie although it was initially reported to be a reboot by Deadline.
Ric Roman Waugh (Angel Has Fallen) will direct the movie from a script by Mark Bianculli (Hunters). In an interview with RadioTimes.com, Stallone revealed his reason for agreeing to do the sequel, saying:
“And the script was fantastic. I was actually truly impressed. It’s very hard to, I mean, I read it all, so to be impressed.”
Sylvester Stallone also said that he will not be hanging from too many peaks for the movie because he is a father now and his age does not permit that kind of action anymore. However, fans can expect the movie to be as thrilling as the original one.

Sylvester Stallone being attached to a project is a big thing in itself given his reputation and legacy. That being said, some might wonder whether or not the sequel to a decades-old movie will work.
Speaking to RadioTimes.com, the actor reflected on why this Cliffhanger sequel will work, saying:
“You look back on films, and very few hold up, because usually they’re made with the same kind of technology and mentality of the times like the ’80s, the ’70s, you can see it.
Like, if you were to make the Godfather today it wouldn’t work. You couldn’t – those actors don’t exist. I mean, it’s a different style. Now Cliffhanger, like Demolition Man, holds up, so I’m looking forward to it.”
For someone who has been in the industry for so long and knows it inside out, Sylvester Stallone must know what is going to work and what is not, better than most.
While there is no update regarding the release of this movie, fans can watch their favorite action hero in The Family Stallone.
Cliffhanger is available for streaming on Apple TV, and The Family Stallone is available for streaming on Paramount Plus.
