Best bit of Oscar night, hands down
Wrap it up gang, we’ve just had the finest moment of tonight’s Oscars ceremony.
As Twins stars Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger stepped out onto the stage to present awards they ended up having a back and forth over their time as Batman villains.
As you might know, DeVito played The Penguin in Batman Returns, while Schwarzenegger portrayed Mr Freeze in Batman and Robin, and they bonded over biting the dust in a couple of movies starring the superhero, who’s not supposed to kill.
Not stopping there, DeVito then called out the Batman actor he starred with as he pointed out Michael Keaton in the crowd, and people have absolutely loved it.

People watching along at home reckon it was their highlight of the night as they called it ‘kind of an iconic moment’.
Someone else commented that it was ‘officially the best Oscar moment’ of the night thus far and plenty more agreed.
One person even declared that it ‘just blew the slap out of the water’, which sounds perfect as it was a much funnier and more entertaining moment than a dramatic one.
Nobody’s getting banned from the Oscars for this one.
Tonight’s ceremony has been packed with skits and moments ranging from the entertaining to the painfully stilted.
We’ve seen Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling trading barbs over the rivalry between Oppenheimer and Barbie, while John Cena presented an award ‘naked’ on the Oscars stage.

However, the absolute king of the ceremony has been the old Batman villains calling the superhero a ‘son of a b***h’ and calling out Michael Keaton.
So many thought it was a wonderfully funny and charming moment that seemed so much more natural than many of the other moments in the ceremony.
A viewer even called it and the moment that Godzilla: Minus One won an award the ‘best five minutes in Oscar history’, and who are we to disagree?

Other more nitpicky movie fans said the moment was so good they’d ‘let it slide’ that Schwarzenegger never actually fought Michael Keaton’s version of Batman, because when there’s this much fun to be had, it really can’t be the time to poke holes in the joy.
You just know that somewhere some executive is desperately scribbling out the plans for a new Batman movie which brings DeVito, Schwarzenegger and Keaton back onto the screen in their old roles.
It’s really not been all that long away from the role for Keaton either, since he reprised his role as the caped crusader for The Flash.
