Kendrick Lamar Responds To TDE's Punch Clowning Him Over 'Dreamy' Chanel Photoshoot
Kendrick Lamar has responded to Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson teasing him over a Chanel photoshoot.

Taking to X on Tuesday (May 28), the record executive posted a screenshot of their text conversation about the photoshoot which took place earlier this year.

Punch sent Kendrick — who was signed to TDE for over a decade before his departure in 2022 — a picture from the shoot and asked him: “What you doing dawg?”

The Compton rapper then responds with a number of laughing face emojis and says: “I think I’m cute on there man. Couldn’t resist.”

Punch continues grilling his former artist by asking: “What you doing with these dreamy eyes n-gga???” to which K. Dot jokingly admits: “I couldn’t resist.”

The TDE boss then says: “Man you gotta let me post this dawg. I’m crying,” to which Kendrick seemingly gave his permission.

Kendrick Lamar’s Chanel shoot was photographed by Malick Bodian in January, the same day he attended Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2024 fashion show in Paris.

The rapper designed the set for the show alongside longtime creative partner Dave Free.

K. Dot’s relationship with the high fashion brand also includes music as he debuted a new song in a short film that accompanied their Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

The unreleased track, which is more rock than rap, is rumored to be titled “I Feel Something.”

Kendrick’s playful text conversation with Punch is technically the first thing he’s said publicly since his high-profile feud with Drake appeared to end earlier this month.

Snoop Dogg recently refused to pick a side in the beef but praised both rappers for putting lyricism at the forefront of their battle.

“Well, the only thing I want to say about that whole scenario is that I want to give both of them a shout out for raising the bar as far as lyrics, as far as song-making and writing because the writing has been upped since the confrontation,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

He added: “Those are my nephews. I’m not in the middle of it. I support both of them and that’s personal business, not my business.”

Snoop also said: “As far as what they did for the industry and the rap game, they made you rap again. You can’t mumble your way and gimmick your way to a song no more, buddy. So thank y’all.”
