Tyson vs. Paul: The Showdown is Back On

Boxing legend Mike Tyson, 57, and social media star Jake Paul, 27, have locked in November 15 for their rescheduled bout, as reported by The Sun. The fight will still take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, maintaining the original venue despite the delay.

Paul announced the new date on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the message: “New date, same place, same fate.”

The bout was postponed last week after Tyson experienced a health scare, prompting doctors to recommend reduced training for several weeks. “Although we had to postpone the fight, I will resume training shortly,” Tyson said. “I’m thankful to the medical staff that treated me and to MVP, Netflix, and AT&T Stadium for working diligently to find the best reschedule date for all parties.”

Tyson is confident about the outcome: “While we have a new date, the result will be the same no matter when we fight. Jake Paul is getting knocked out.”

Fight Details

The fight will be televised by Netflix and will take place on a Friday, allowing time for the stadium to be reconfigured ahead of the Cowboys playing host to the Houston Texans in a Monday night NFL game on November 18.

Paul and Tyson will face off over eight two-minute rounds in a professional fight sanctioned by Texas boxing officials. This marks Tyson’s return to the ring since his last professional fight in 2005.

Reactions and Concerns

Other fighters, including former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder, have expressed concerns about Tyson’s health and safety in the bout. However, Tyson remains determined, calling the decision to return to the ring against Paul a “no-brainer.”

Reflecting on the postponement, Paul shared his feelings on social media: “Obviously, devastating news. I’m heartbroken, speechless, gutted. You [Tyson] said you wanna do this in Q4, I’m ready. You just need a little bit of time, so I’m ready whenever you are. This is too big of an opportunity and I think this fight is going to change the world. I turn all my Ls into Ws and that’s a motto I live by.”

Paul expressed sympathy for everyone involved in the event, including the undercard fighters: “I just feel bad for everyone involved in this event, the undercard. The opportunity has been ripped from all of us.”
