The ‘Lose Yourself’ rapper almost forgot that he was part of a huge music video
In a hilarious brain fart moment, Eminem completely forgot that he was part of one of the most famous music videos in history.
The ‘Lose Yourself’ rapper is known as one of the greatest music artists of all time, and has been a part of some of the biggest songs in the last 25 years.
Also known as Marshall Mathers or ‘Slim Shady’, Eminem was once known for his outrageous lyrics and erratic behaviour in his early days.
After bursting onto the music scene with his debut single ‘My Name Is’, the Detroit rapper never looked back.
Currently standing as the best-selling rapper as all time, he has sold over 500 million records worldwide and was also the best-selling artist of the 2000s.
I guess when you put it into context, in addition to his 11 albums and hundreds of songs, it might be easy to forget things that you did in your career.
Back in the summer of 2022, Eminem sat down with Snoop Dogg for an interview to promote their new single, ‘From the D 2 The LBC’.
In the clip, posted to Eminem’s Instagram page, the interviewer asks: “Have y’all shot a video together before?”
Eminem had a quick think before answering: “Nope.”
Snoop, sat there motionless before Mathers’ answer, and quickly said: “We was in a movie together, and the video… The Dre video.”
“Weren’t you on the beach running on that video?” Snoop asked, referencing the iconic ‘Still D.R.E’ music video.
Eminem was left completely perplexed, asking if he really was in the video.
‘The Doggfather’, as he is also known, clarified: “You was running on the beach. That was like your debut album.
“You was running on the beach with damn near no clothes on. You was Slim Shady, you was like crazy back then, like real crazy.”
The 51-year-old finally had his moment of clarity, blurting out: “Oh yeah! Now I remember.”
“I remember now. For some reason, I was thinking ‘Forgot About Dre’.”
Though his role in ‘Still D.R.E’ was just a short cameo in the video, it was an iconic moment at the time as he had just released his first album.
We’ve all heard the classic hip-hop tune, released when Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg were at the peak of their powers, and the song still gets people nodding their heads to the beat.
In recent years though, Eminem has stayed clear of the spotlight, but that takes nothing away from his incomparable legacy.
