NBA Twitter Is Raising Questions in Response to Jaylen Brown’s “Questionable” Statement Against Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum Discusses His Views on Jaylen Brown’s Entry into the Dunk Contest

The Boston Celtics defeated the Indiana Pacers 133–128 in overtime to successfully defend their home court. But their happy moments were cut short when Jaylen Brown said something dubious about his teammate Jayson Tatum. The incident attracted NBA fans’ attention and caused some eyebrows to raise before the Eastern Conference Finals even began.

Brown analyzed the team’s OT comeback victory shortly after the game ended. The 27-year-old hilariously described Tatum’s contributions as a key factor in the triumph during this process. In an interview following the game, the three-time All-Star said,

“JT finally woke up, and made some baskets”.

His remark accurately highlighted Tatum’s productivity that makes a difference. Despite having a difficult start to the game, the Celtics star led the team to victory with a double-double of 36 points and 12 rebounds for the evening. Brown’s claim is supported by the fact that it was also his highest individual score in the playoffs this season.

Nonetheless, the NBA fans were drawn to Brown’s remarks because of their underlying mocking tone. They banded together on X, the former Twitter, to support his position and further ridicule Tatum. One of them even said,

“Jaylen Brown always carries then Tatum gets the credit after throwing the game. It ALWAYS happens bro”.

Brown very certainly said those things in the heat of the moment. However, his comments certainly sound a little harsh, and they did devalue Tatum’s standing inside the league to some degree. On the other hand, Tatum warmed the hearts of Celtics supporters with his statement and had nothing but kind things to say about his colleague.
