Cardi B is not on board with a recent call to ban pornography, even though she’s not a regular viewer.
Last week, right-wing commentator Candace Owens called for a ban on XXX content in a post to X (formerly Twitter), calling it a “psychological weapon” against men.
“Ban pornography. It is a psychological weapon intended to weaken our men,” she wrote.
In an Instagram comment captured by TMZ, Cardi responded to the post, questioning why a person would ever need to be that extreme.
In a follow-up comment responding to Owens’ “weaken our men” idea, she added, “It actually should teach men how to please a woman.”
On the music side of things, Cardi B is reportedly still gearing up to drop an album in 2024, despite her comments to the contrary just earlier this month.
As the latest Rolling Stone cover girl, Bardi opened up about the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy and was even working on it throughout the interview with the famed publication.
While the conversation took place in March, Rolling Stone reached out to the Bronx rapper’s team amid her declaration to no longer drop her sophomore effort on May 14, and her rep assured them that “an album in 2024 is still the plan.”
It would appear then that Cardi made the since-deleted post to Twitter/X out of spite, as she was upset about her fans hounding her for new music.
In the tweet, Cardi had agreed with a fan who said people don’t appreciate the Bronx rapper’s transparency, and that she should fall back from social media for the time being.
“Exactly and I tell myself this all the time..and I hate that I fall back and start interacting again and it bites me in the ass…” Cardi replied. “anyway NO album this year I don’t care I’m relaxing this year.. Dropping these features I already committed to and traveling and enjoying my summer.”
As for the album, Rolling Stone reports that, as of March, it was partially done, but still needed an intro, at least three more songs a title, features, and a rollout plan.
Regarding the album’s vibe, Cardi said that she’s “a different person every single day. When I’m in a good mood and I’m with my friends, [I’m] like, ‘Damn, I want my shit to be played in this club.’ But then I might be mad with my man, so it’s like now I want to do this song. But then I want to do a pop record. I want to do my sing-y shit.”
